There is nothing like staying at home for real comfort. Jane Austen
Where do you want to be? Do you want to be near shopping, medical care, restaurants, etc… then you may enjoy the Farragut area in deep West Knox County which includes the Turkey Creek shopping district with many speciality shops, large department stores, movie theaters, grocery stores, medical care and restaurants. There are many subdivisions old and new, some with ammenities such as pools and tennis courts. There are a few rural areas in the Farragut community but they are very limited. The median income for this area is high enough that it will not qualify for the Rual Development or USDA loans.
If a more rural area is to your liking you may want to check out Loudon County. just slightly west of the Farragut/Knox County area. If you choose to settle in the east end of the county you will still be with in 10 to 15 minutes of great shopping, entertainment, dining and medical while enjoying a lower county tax!
Loudon County is known as the lakeway to the Smokies! If you love boating, fishing or anything having to do with water you will be right at home! You don’t have to own a home on the water in order to enjoy the many lakes in the area. Houses with water access can be pricey however there are numerous places and parks to launch a boat, fish, or even beaches to enjoy a swim.
